Paul Privette started working as a professional photographer in Gainesville six years ago. He worked with a local studio where he specialized in portrait photography. In September of 2007, Paul and his wife, Kristin, decided to take a “leap of faith” and start working towards opening their own studio. The couple set their sights on Haile Village and when they found their current location, the jumped on it. Because of the picturesque surroundings in the Village, many of their customers have chosen to use the area for their outdoor portraits. It makes for a pleasant atmosphere that the couple loves to be a part of.

Kristin’s background is in print design and works in the production of albums, portrait montages, commercial products, and other design projects. Paul and Kristin’s son, Win, is in the studio often along with their five pound peka-poma-poo (it’s a dog). “It’s a family business. We love having our family around. We’ll see how long it lasts once Win starts walking!” says Kristin.

“We love what we do. We get to work with people who are excited about what’s going on in their lives. There’s no better job. I get to be a part of people’s most memorable experiences and I get to help them remember them exactly how they should be,” says Paul. Paul sums up this aspect of his work: “For me, a good photograph is full of emotion and mood. Taking great pictures is about knowing your clients. We our genuinely interested in our clients and what makes them happy. We like to get to know them so they feel comfortable with us. When they’re comfortable, they act like themselves, and that’s when I can take the perfect picture.”
